Zach Carney walked out onto the sand. The ocean was a deep blue with colors waving over it from the setting sun. Far out in the sea were a couple of dolphins going up and down. They seemed so close, yet he knew they were a great distance away. The orange and pinks agains the sky were beautiful. They were pure and colorful, the way it should be. The way life should be in fact, yet it wasn't. There was such crime in the world now. You could hardly go to any big city without a murdur being reported almost everyday. Zach was lucky to have grown up in a small town with a local race-track. He was to big to be a jockey, but he loved to breeze the horses around the track. He would go down there every day and get paid a dollar to excersize their horse. He loved it. True, it was rather dangerous at times, but he didn't care. His mother died when he was three, and his dad never really cared what he did. Zach grew up practially on his own. He didn't mind though, the horses were always there for him. The bright blazing colors were now going away as a full moon was rising into the black sky. White specks dotted the midnight air as the bright light faded away. Night was the most peaceful time, and Zach's favorite time.
