As Daniel Freid hurried inside the warm, deliciously scented coffee shop, he sighed, looking around at the comfy chairs next to the tables with many different magazines askew. He went up to the counter, where the menu was behind. Daniel's eyes scanned over the menu and it didn't take him long to choose a hot steaming coffee. Daniel cradled the styrofoam cup between his hands gingerly, breathing in the warm, steamy aroma. He sat down on a couch, sipped quickly and timidly at his coffee, than picked up a horseracing magazine that was choc full of the latest horseracing news.

Zach walked into the warm coffee shop and went up to the counter. He waited as a young woman in front of him complained that her coffee was cold. The man behind the counter looked skeptical, but gave her a new one anyway. Once she went and sat down, Zach ordered a nice warm cup of coffee and went to sit down. He was new in town, and figured he might as well meet some new people. He saw a guy sitting alone reading a horse magazine and figured he was into racing. Zach had been into racing since he was born, so he might acctually like this guy. Zach walked over and sat down in a comfy chair beside the couch. Hello, I am Zach Carney. I hope I'm not interrupting anything, he said as he glanced at the magazine the guy was reading. He knew he had to take at least a chance on making some friends, he couldn't be a loner in this new town.

Daniel looked up with a small smile. "Hey. You're not. I'm just getting caught up on the racing news. I'm really into racehorses-I own two." he said with a nod. "Oh and by the way, I'm Daniel Freid." he said with a nod as he sipped more of his coffee.

It is nice to meet you. I also am really into racing. I own one little filly, but havn't raced her here yet, Zach said. He was right, this guy is into racing. I'm kinda new here, so can you tell me where the races are held? He was really excited to get Sammy back into racing soon. He had been training her for a while because they had been on the road, so now that he had settled, he really wanted to get her back onto the track.

"That's nice. I own a filly and a gelding." Daniel said with a grin. "You probably haven't heard of them, but their names are Clean Pink and Rude Awakening." he said, nodding. After that, Daniel told Zach all about the nearby track and the races. "Maybe I'll see you there sometime." Daniel said with a grin. "Have you heard of Castle Rock Racing Stables? I board my horses there, and visit it every morning to visit them or watch them excercise." he stated proudly.

No, I haven't heard of them. Then again, I haven't been here long, Zach said. He listened as Daniel explained when and where the races were held. He would have to go check it out later. I have heard people mention Castle Rock Stables, but I have never went to look at it. I might have to go there sometime to see. I have just been riding Sammy at the track down the rode here. I usually ride her during breezes and things, but I guess I'm a little big to be riding her in the races, Zach said with a laugh. He was about 6'2''. Jockys were usually 4'5'' or something of the sort. He would never make it as a jocky, but would hardly ever let anyone else ride Sammy during her training.

Daniel nodded. "She sounds gorgeous." he commented on Zach's description of his filly. "I don't excercise mine, but I watch them excercise almost every morning. My filly is so cute-she's a tall, dainty chestnut with a star." he added with a grin.

Zach smiled. She sounds like a good racehorse to me, he said with a grin. He wondered if he would race Sammy against Daniel's horses. How long have you been into racing?

Daniel laughed, thanking Zach. "Well my parents owned a few racehorses when I was a kid, but other than that this is my first time really owning them and having something to do with their racing and training. It's pretty exciting." he said, nodding. "They're getting better every day." he added with a sigh and a sip of coffee.

Zach nodded. Yea, I have grown up around the racetracks. When I was a kid I used to get money by breezing the horses for people. That is parcially why I like to ride my own horses during their training, he said with a smile. He loved the feeling of racing around the track, trying to beat the time. It was as if you were racing your own ghost during training. The only real goal during each workout is to try to be a little bit better then the previouse workout.

"That's cool. When I was a kid I was too small and weak to control any racehorse. Though it looked really fun. That sounds cool." he added to Zach's reminiscing.
