Zach led a large black filly out onto the track. He got her ready and checked all her tack to make sure it was sucure. He tightened the girth a little, then got a leg up onto her. He warmed Sammy up a little around the track, then paused. He leaned low over her whithers and asked for a gallop. The filly burst into the gallop. That was good, saying she would have to start fast from the gait so she wouldn't get trapped in the croud of horses starting slower. He galloped her around the mile track once, then a little bit longer to help build her endurance so she would not be whiped out at the end of the race. He slowed her to a trot, then a walk. It had been a very good day.
